I was working on updating my artist resume last night.

In the process I found these two very helpful links that are really great in helping you to write your artist resume and artist statement:

Embarking on some commissioned work, but first testing out my different watercolor materials--cheap watercolor paint, to better high quality watercolor paint, to watercolor pencils--and how it works with different pens I have; Plain & cheap, but my fave ball-point Bic pen, PITT artist pens, TUL pens, Alvin Tech-Liner pens, and good old black india ink w/brush & pen... Also played with some white and black gouache paint that Cathy gave to me. I may incorporate those paints into the illustrations somehow.



I think I may go for the watercolor pencils and pen and ink for this project. I purposely blurred some of the text I wrote with pen & ink in this image, because I don't want to share yet, who I am working on this project for. I had written the company's name down while playing with the pens.

For those of who were not able to go to the We Are Here show earlier on October, these are images of the pieces I had in the show.

There were over 400 people in attendance during opening night. Because of our sponsors we were able to give away pickle backs and bloody mary mix from McClures, beer from Motor City Brewing Works for free; along with free pizza from Supino's. The pizza, two kegs from MCBW, 3 huge bottles of Jameson and Valentine Vodka (for the pickle backs and bloody mary mix) were all gone within 2 1/2 hours.

Cathy has been one of my closest friends since college. Her and her husband recently sent me some very awesome goods. I'm looking forward to continuing and finishing up with some of my personal projects and commissioned artwork so I can get down to playing and experimenting with screen printing.

If all goes well and in a timely matter, I might be able to work my new art materials into creating some very cool holiday gifts....
